See What Readers Say

Over 500 survivors, families, and doctors agree: These aren’t just books. They’re lifelines.

I wish to recommend readers to an excellent book, “Wisdom From Five Cancer Travelers: Lessons Learned.” The book chronicles the highs and lows of five individuals as they go through the cycle from discovery of cancer to treatment options and results, and finally to the recovery process. Each of the five authors (or writers) went through their emotional cancer story in detail. The reader will be inspired by the honesty of the writers in each of the stories. This is a wonderful book for anyone who has a friend or loved one going through the cancer journey or for anyone who simply wants to learn more about the disease.

"It takes a Village" “Wisdom from Five Cancer Travelers - Lessons Learned” takes us on an incredible journey by five unique cancer survivors and the communities who supported them. It brings together their respective supporters made up of family and friends, oncology staff, religious figures, inspirational groups and even massage therapists and musicians who played during chemotherapy sessions to help the travelers through that section of their journeys. Most importantly, the book reveals the resilience of these individuals. It details the cancer journey from the patient's perspective and the various decisions they had to make to determine the most appropriate course of treatment for their particular cancer. Each faced various options on which procedures would work best for them and in many cases seeking second opinions before making their final decision. The one major take away was that there are often multiple options to consider to eliminate or slow the pace of their cancers. Each cancer traveler chose a different path to deal with their cancer.
